Barcelona’s Alexia Putellas undergoes surgery in effort to resolve knee injury

Barcelona have confirmed that Alexia Putellas underwent surgery on Wednesday to “examine” an ongoing problem with her left knee.

Having announced on Tuesday that the 29-year-old was due to undergo an arthroscopy, the club confirmed on their official website that the procedure was “successful” 24 hours later.

“Alexia Putellas has had an arthroscopy to examine her left knee,” a short statement read. “Doctor Joan Carles Monllau performed the procedure at Hospital de Barcelona, with supervision by the club’s medical services.”

Christopher Bell seeks fourth Cup Series win of 2024 at Ally 400

Christopher Bell started last week in Loudon by letting the cat out of the bag then ended it as he always seems to do at New Hampshire Motor Speedway: First to the checkers. On a historic day when NASCAR ran wet-weather tires on an oval to give the fans their money's worth — actually a few laps more than the planned 301 circuits — Bell showed that he had figured out how to maneuver his No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota around the New England track better than any other driver. That came after inadvertently revealing that Chase Briscoe would be joining him as a JGR teammate next season, letting the confidential info slip out last Friday in an interview in the infield media center. Winning Sunday helped erase the oopsie. Bell's second career Cup Series win at Loudon came on the…

Watch Ray Lewis Deliver A Pregame Speech To The Patriots In A Seemingly Empty Garage For No Good Reason

Have you ever looked around a vacant garage and thought, “Boy, this would be a great place for Ray Lewis to pretend he’s giving a Super Bowl pep talk, repeatedly using ‘we’ and ‘us’ to describe a team he never played for as he pumps up the empty room”? So has the NFL! If you have any information about what this is and why it exists, please send it to [email protected]. …

That is SO Gabbert Even Blaine knew that was coming. The Titans have gone 9-7 three years in a row. Even firing Mike Mularkey last offseason couldn’t knock them off that steady non-trajectory. Jake Peavy Had A Truly Terrible 2016

Jake Peavy’s 2016 season ended with a career-worst 5.54 ERA, a 1.43 WHIP, and divorce papers. According to ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick, Peavy’s wife Katie, a childhood friend he married at 19 years old, filed for divorce in October, right after the Giants were eliminated in the NLDS by the Cubs. Peavy didn’t pitch in the postseason. He hadn’t started a game since July, and made his last appearance on Sept. 21. Peavy wasn’t placed on the DL, but Crasnick says the pitcher was sidelined after stepping on a pair of scissors at home. Before all of that, Peavy had been pitching through distraction. In June, it was revealed that he had been the victim of a Ponzi scheme—one that also targeted Roy Oswalt and Mark Sanchez—and may have lost around $15 million. According to a suit filed…

2013 Deadspin Hall Of Fame Nominee: The Buttfumble

Read the other Why Your Team Sucks 2012 previews here. 1. I hate you. We've gotten a great deal of angry feedback for these previews, all of it highly amusing. A lot of hate mail I get usually features the reader calling me gay and then saying, "You must be a BUTTHURT fan of [insert rival team of the reader here]." And that hasn't been true, until now. Now, we get to the Packers, and so I will begin this preview by telling you that I am a Vikings fan, and that I do have it in for your team because I fucking hate them, much more so than the Lions or Bears. I'm completely, horribly …

VIDEO: Edge's Return to WWE at Royal Rumble Was Absolutely Electric

data-mm-id=”_o8mdumtzy”>Not that you especially care, but the combination of my dog waking me up at 5:30 A.M. on Sunday and my one-year-old's birthday party in the afternoon formed a tag-team that caused me to fall asleep in the middle of the WWE Royal Rumble, traditionally one of my favorite nights of the year. I told my WWE text thread that this was going to happen, and said "you're welcome" for the fact that the Rumble would be magnificent as to cause me regrets for missing it live.I was right for a couple of reasons: Drew McIntyre's victory elevated someone new into the main event picture, something WWE viewers have been clamoring about for years. Secondly, Edge returned and got a ginormous pop:While Edge has been out of WWE for about nine years following a…

Dak Prescott Denies Hosting Party During Coronavirus Shutdown

data-mm-id=”_8ropvoen4″>Dak Prescott was accused of breaking social distancing rules over the weekend by having a party at his house. The guest list reportedly included Dallas Cowboys teammates Ezekiel Elliott. Prescott fired back on Tuesday, claiming that was inaccurate and that he had only had a small dinner with a few friends. The initial report claimed "dozens" of people were at Prescott's house and the backlash over the "party" had gotten so bad, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones claimed to have talked to both players about their behavior. The gathering did violate the current "stay at home" order in Texas because multiple people left their homes to attend. That could be considered a bad look for the Dallas' quarterback. Well, …

Michael Porter Jr. Could Change Everything For the Denver Nuggets

data-mm-id=”_uhng67c0e”>The NBA bubble has come with a few revelations. T.J. Warren stands out as the biggest after he spent the last four months apparently channeling Michael Jordan or something and dropped 50 in the first seeding game. The Portland Trail Blazers are making a hard push for the eight seed in the West, along with three other teams. It's been a lot of fun. One entirely unexpected development, however, has come out of the Denver Nuggets' camp down in Orlando. And it's not Bol Bol, as awesome as he is. No, the big surprise has come from Michael Porter Jr., fully healthy for the first time in who knows how long and playing like a man on fire. He's dropped 67 points in the last two games as a sweet-shooting wing playing off Nikola Jokic, and if this is a …
